Character: Kinomoto Touya
Series/Fandom: Card Captor Sakura
Original or Alternate: Alternate
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Touya is good-looking. He's tall, broad-shouldered and long-legged. He has brown eyes and short black hair, and his bangs partially cover a scar on the right side of his forehead that goes a little past his eyebrow. His taste for clothing is simple, preferring to dress up in neutral hues and earth colors.
Personality: He is independent. He likes to do things himself and won't ask for help unless he has to. He is serious and focused, knowing exactly what he wants or what he has to do, and how he's going to get it or get it done. He isn't one you'd exactly describe as sweet, but he's kind, even though he's reluctant to show it. He won't go out of his way to be polite when it's not called for, but he won't do something somebody will take offense either, unless he doesn't like that person. He is overprotective of Sakura and he doesn't hesitate to let that show. But he's more affectionate towards her now, knowing all too well how unstable she is emotionally.
Abilities/Strengths: Touya is athletic. He was on his high school's soccer team, and he constantly took part in various sports events during his college years. And he can basically be called a jack-of-all-trades, having worked through all kinds of part-time jobs. He is also intuitive, very knowledgeable about Clow's magic, and is able to talk to Sakura's cards - The Mirror in particular, who he's been in constant communication with. And this Touya can use magic. He can call on a shield made of crystal, hurl projectiles of the same nature, and even summon forth a crystal sword. He can also use shards of glass as weapons.
Weapons: None, other than his magic.
Weaknesses: His magic is limited, having been just endowed to him, and is mostly defensive in nature. He also hasn't been properly trained in combat. And his little sister, Sakura, is a major weakness, as well as his special someone, Yukito. He would put his life on the line without hesitation just for them.
History: Touya had strong magical powers from birth, enabling him to see and sense the supernatural - including his deceased mother, who had died of a heart illness when he was ten. Despite that, life went on normally for him, until he met Tsukishiro Yukito in eighth grade. He knew Yukito wasn't human, but he befriended him anyway, and they shared a special closeness ever since. Things took even a wilder turn in his junior year in high school, when his little sister, Sakura, started having adventures involving a set of strange magical cards called the Clow Cards. Through all that, he learned that Yukito was the false form of a mystical being named Yue and even gave up his magic to save him from disappearing, that Sakura had become the new master of the Cards and was apparently destined for magical greatness, and that the brat from Hong Kong, Li Shaoran, who first came to Tomoeda as a hostile rival, had fallen in love with her.
And when Sakura came home after the fight against The Nothing card, holding hands with the brat, Touya knew that someday he'd have to let her go.
Shaoran returned to Hong Kong a few months later and Touya thought he wouldn't have to deal with him for a while. But a day after the brat's birthday (which he knew, because Sakura had asked for his help in choosing a present), he received terrifying news. Daidouji Tomoyo, his sister's best friend, brought an unconscious Sakura home, alongside Hiiragizawa Eriol, Clow Reed's reincarnation, and other old friends - Spinel Sun, Ruby Moon and even Mizuki Kaho, his ex-girlfriend. They informed him, Yue and Keroberos about the situation: Feiwong Reed, Shaoran's uncle, wanted Sakura's magic, and had even launched an attack on the girl as she was on her way home from school. Shaoran had tried to stop him but failed, and now Feiwong was demanding the Lis to surrender the Card Mistress in exchange for the boy. Eriol then decided that it would be best if Sakura knew nothing of it, in fear that she would go to Hong Kong to save Shaoran herself and fall for Feiwong's trap. Touya, wanting to keep his sister safe, supported him.
One day, when he and Sakura went out to buy groceries, another group of Feiwong's minions attacked. Touya tried very hard to stand up to them and protect his sister, but lacking on the magic side, he couldn't do much. In the end Eriol had to bail them out, and he went home with a wound on his forehead. However, he refused to have it healed magically, keeping the scar as a remembrance of his weakness. He then sought Eriol's help, requesting magical aid, and Eriol, understanding his desire to protect Sakura, granted him magic and also trained him. The two became good friends and had worked together since then.
At first he thought it was okay. But Sakura slowly fell apart as the days passed, attacked over and over by her prophetic dreams of Shaoran's murder in the hands of a faceless magician. Soon she became an emotional wreck, taking it upon herself to search for Shaoran as her love became a frightening, unhealthy obsession. One day, he caught her speaking to an illusion of Shaoran that she herself created, and he admitted, with regret, that she had gone mad, and with much reluctance, set an appointment with a psychologist. Breaking her heart kept her away from Hong Kong, all right, but it apparently pushed her to the edge, and it seemed that only the brat could save her now.
But Feiwong was on the move again. They received a tip from the Lis that the evil magician was going to launch another attack, and, this time, he was certain that he would succeed. And those in Tomoeda were running out of options. While Sakura had grown stronger over the years, her obsession fueling her desire to gain more power, she was, emotionally, at her weakest, and Feiwong, the master of lies and deceit, still had an ace on his side: Shaoran. If he turned the boy against her it would be the end; Sakura would fall for the trap no matter how obvious it was. Eriol, despite meeting opposition, decided that he would help Touya fulfill the role he had been secretly preparing the older Kinomoto for - as Sakura's sheath, to protect her from herself. The plan was for Eriol to take Sakura's magic (force it from her if he had to) before Feiwong can, and appoint Touya as the new master of the Cards, keeping the power of the Stars safe with him.
Sakura, however, had disappeared. Keroberos spoke of her coming home that night with a magical book, using one of the incantations written therein, and disappearing in a flash of white light. The following morning, word broke out that Shaoran had escaped. Thinking that she really had gone to Hong Kong to save the brat, Eriol, Yue and Touya went there in pursuit, hoping that they weren't too late. But when they arrived in Feiwong's mansion, the old man and his followers were already dead, and there was no trace of Sakura or Shaoran. Making matters worse, Eriol was positive that the magic that had been used to commit the murder was one similar to Clow's, and that only meant one thing: it was Sakura who killed them.
Touya refused to believe that his sister was a murderer, but she was nowhere to be found, all the more increasing their suspicion. They returned to Tomoeda and found out that Tomoyo had left for Hong Kong as well, and with Li Meilin, Shaoran's cousin and Sakura's friend, also missing, they were convinced that the three girls had been plotting to rescue Shaoran all along, and had finally succeeded, even though the end was highly unpleasant.
And in the midst of the chaos and their search for those who had gone missing, Kinomoto Touya was drafted, and was now among those who had disappeared.
